The village of Achaiko is built at the foot of the Klokos peak, on a mountain balcony with unlimited views and at an altitude of 1350 m. It is located on the border between the forest and alpine zones, in a grassland area dotted with wild trees—apple, pear, walnut, and cedar—as well as centuries-old wild cherry trees. The wider area has been included in the NATURA 2000 network as an area of particular biodiversity.

ACCESS
FROM ATHENS:
Take the Athens-Corinth-Patras national highway and enter the Aigio East exit. At the first traffic lights you encounter, turn left (there is an OPEL dealership on the corner). This road is the old Aigio-Kalavryta national highway. Continue straight towards the mountain for 22 kilometers. Follow this road and after passing through the villages of Selinounta, Pyrgaki, Fteri, you will arrive at Agios Panteleimonas. After two turns, you will find the intersection for ACHAIKO CHORIO on your right. Follow the signs and after 900 meters on a dirt road, you will arrive at ACHAIKO CHORIO.
Especially during the winter months and if weather conditions are particularly difficult (e.g. heavy snowfall), our special jeeps are always ready to serve you.
FROM PATRA:
We recommend entering at the Aigio East entrance and following the route described above.
– ATTENTION! Make sure you have all your personal supplies (cigarettes, magazines, etc.) before you start the climb! There are no shops or gas stations along the entire route from Aigio to Kalavryta!
